How To Set Up A New Cricut Expression Die Cut Machine:

The exciting news is that there are no programs to install or complicated commands to learn. The Expression was designed with simplicity of operation in mind. So you don't have to be technically inclined.

Here are the basic steps to unpack your machine and get it going; shouldn't take more than a few minutes.

>> Place the Cricut Expression on a your work table. Leave enough room behind the machine to allow the mat to feed out the back of the machine. The work table should be big enough to have workspace around the machine.

>> Open the lid and remove all the cardboard inserts. Loosen the screw to insert the green blade assembly into the cradle. Face the black arrow toward you and tighten the screw.

>> Insert the power supply cord into the back of the machine. Plug the cord into the nearest electrical outlet.

>> Lift up the display on the left-hand side.

>> Place the keyboard overlay on the right-hand side.

>> Insert a cartridge into the cartridge slot, then turn on the machine (see button on top right side).

>> Remove the protective plastic covering from the cutting mat. Place the paper to be cut on the mat. Gently press the mat against the roller bar and press the load paper button.

>> Select size using the numbers on the size dial on the left. Adjust pressure setting depending on thickness of paper.

>> From the keyboard, choose the desired characters, phrases or shapes and press the cut button.

>> When the machine is finished cutting, press the unload paper button. Lift shapes gently off the cutting mat.

The readers of Creating Keepsakes have named Provo Craft's Cricut Expression Electronic Cutter as the recipient of the prestigious "Best New Product" award for 2007, while several other Provo Craft products were recognized in the magazines annual polls. It is the unprecedented second consecutive "Best New Product" award for Provo Craft, as the original Cricut took home last year's honor.
